Was macht VCP besser als die anderen und was schlechter? Ich will nicht für die anderen Programme werben, nur ohne den Vergleich kann ich mich nicht entscheiden.
Es muss die VAG Gruppe unterstützt werden von 1999 bis .....(offen).
Folgende Funktionen sollen unterstützt sein:
elektrische Bremse ein/ausfahren,
Grundeinstellungen , Service zurückstellen,
Stellgliedtest, anlernen,
Fehlerspeicher lesen und löschen von diversen Steuergeräten (nicht nur die abgasrelevanten Fehler sonder z.B auch Airbag), Diagramme z.B für Zündaussetzer.
Liegt dem Programm eine Anleitung bei, welches einen den Einstieg erleichtert?
Gibt es auch ein globales Forum für VCP?^^

Nachteil von VCP: Schlechte Labels für Fahrzeuge älter als 2009, teilweise keine Stellglieddiagnose unterstützt (PQ35 Kombi z.B.)

Ich kann den Link leider nicht folgen. Wird mir wohl verweigert. Hätte es gerne gesehen.
Was besagt denn PQ35? Den Fehlerspeicher von Motor, Airbag, ABS/ESP und co kann man aber auslesen und löschen wenn etwas ist ab bj.99 bis ...(offen)?
Beinhaltet denn das Programm auch Charts für z.B Zündaussetzer?

Labels sind Beschreibungen, was Bits und Bytes auslösen. PQ35 ist eine Fahrzeugplattform der VAG Marken.

Bei VCDS wird man doch bestimmt auch lesen müssen was passiert wenn man das und jenes umstellt. So wäre es hier doch auch.
Ich hatte aber schön öfters gelesen das man wohl mit VCDS anfangen soll. Carport wird erst gar nicht erwähnt. Warum auch immer.
Andere schreiben dann wieder das sie VCDS komplett durch VCP ersetzt haben. Ist denn VCP zukunftssicher?

Zum Thema zukunftssicher kann ich nur sagen, Ross-Tech ist zwar ein größerer Laden als VAG Tech, aber da läuft auch nicht alles rund, wie man an der langen Wartezeit auf das HEX-NET sehen konnte. Selbst wenn VAG Tech heute aufhören sollte, kann man mit VCP noch auf Jahre weiterarbeiten. Ich persönlich verwende VCDS nur noch für die paar Dinge, die es (noch) besser macht als VCP, z.B. ADAMAP's und Stellglieddiagnose. Ich bin mir aber sicher, dass auch in diesen Punkten VCP aufholen wird, oder VCDS (wie in vielen Punkten) sogar überholen.
Die Meisten haben Probleme mit VCP wenn sie von VCDS umsteigen weil die Bedienung nicht wie gewohnt ist. Wenn man sich aber daran gewöhnt hat kann man mit VCP genauso gut und flüssig arbeiten wie mit VCDS. Im Endeffekt haben beide System Vor- und Nachteile und jeder muss für sich abwägen, was ihm wichtiger ist.

Stellglieddiagnose geht mit VCP oftmals besser, vorallem seit VCDS 14.x.x
Es wird nämlich laut VCDS alles vom STG zurückgewiesen/ungültiger Befehl oder wird nicht vom STG unterstützt... Ist bei 7/10 Versuchen so - mit VCP klappt es dafür 8 von 10 mal
Ross-Tech hat den MQB imho nicht ernst genommen bzw verka**t... Denn selbst ihre Aussage man ist ein Diagnoseprogramm für die Wartung, Diagnose hauptsächlich am Antriebsstrang ist lächerlich. Man kann nichtmals n G85 mit VCDS initialisieren oder Fehlerpfade nachvollziehen, benötigte Datensätze flashen oder Support beim Thema ABS bekommen.

MQB hat Rosstech mit VCDS voll verpennt und hinkt Meilenweit hinterher, MLB(evo) ist auch nicht viel besser...

Carport eignet sich am besten, wenn man ein sehr breites Spektrum von Fahrzeugen abdecken will und man sich primär um Fehlererkennung und -behebung kümmern möchte. Hier ist der Vorteil, dass es fast jedes Fabrikat irgendwie unterstützt. Nachteilig ist bei diesem Produkt, dass viele Bits nicht dokumentiert sind. Hier ist VCDS und VCP klar besser. Wenn du die Codierungen primär aus dem Internet abrufst, ist das kein Thema, da oftmals direkt da steht, welches Bit in welchem Byte welches Steuergerätes geändert werden muss.
VCDS ist aus meiner Sicht (bisher immer noch) der Klassenprimus. Hier werden im Gegensatz zu Carport ausschließlich VAG-Fahrzeuge unterstützt; diese jedoch in der Regel sehr umfassend. Funktionstechnisch ist hier nahezu alles problemlos möglich, wobei die Unterstützung für Fahrzeuge auch älteren Baujahres sehr gut ist. Vorteil hier ist für mich die Bedienerfreundlichkeit. Theoretisch kann nichts schief gehen, denn es werden bei geänderter Codierung oder Anpassung immer auch ein Debugging-Log angelegt, was die Änderungen nachverfolgbar macht. Nachteilig ist, dass neue Fahrzeugmodelle häufig nicht zeitnah vollständig unterstützt sind. Es vergeht immer etwas Zeit, bis entsprechende Daten in VCDS hinterlegt sind. Softwareupdates bei Fehlern in VCDS lassen aus meiner Sicht aber viel zu lange auf sich warten.
VCP ist der "Herausforderer". Ein junges dynamisches Produkt, bei dem sich mit der Zeit viel geändert hat bzw. ändert. Für alle VAG-Fahrzeuge erhält man hiermit die meisten Möglichkeiten zur Anpassung/Codierung für die Fahrzeuge. Wie schon erwähnt kann es einige Sachen schlechter als VCDS, dafür kann man mit VCP Steuergeräte auch parametrieren – ein Thema, was bei allen neu eingeführten Modellen ab 2012 zunehmend relevant ist (bspw. für Nachrüstungen). Zusätzlich findet die Weiterentwicklung viel schneller statt, als bei VCDS. Das ist prinzipiell positiv, hat aber den Nachteil, das unter Umständen eklatantere Fehler in der Software verbleiben und erst im kommenden Patch behoben sind (ich erinnere an das Problem, dass beim ändern der Codierung nur die geänderten Werte übertragen wurden und der Rest genullt wurde). Wie schon von anderen erwähnt richtet sich das Tool eher an Leute mit mehr Erfahrung und mehr Mut, als VCDS und Carport. Ein alter Parameter kann nicht einfach vor dem einspielen eines neuen gesichert werden; falls etwas schief geht. Ähnlich verhält es sich mit Anpassungen und Codierungen. Die Fangnetze von VCDS fehlen VCP hier leider.

Finde ich toll das die Entwickler fleißig sind, und eventuell wird das Programm auch noch benutzerfreundlicher? War denn VCDS am Anfang auch so übersichtlich?
Wenn ich nun den Fehlerspeicher auslese, wird mir nur ein Code wiedergegeben oder auch gesagt um welches Bauteil es sich handelt und um welche Fehlerart z.B Unterbrechung oder Maximalwert überschritten usw.? Also wird es mir in Klartext angezeigt oder muss ich den Fehlercode erst im Netz eingeben damit ich weiß was los ist?
Ich habe gelesen das man nur Updates die ersten 12 Monate bekommt, danach muss man wohl bezahlen? Kann man das Programm ohne Update dann trotzdem benutzen oder wird es gesperrt? Wenn man mehrere Updates auslässt muss man die dann trotzdem kaufen wenn schon ein neures Update draußen ist, welches man erwerben möchte?
Es wurde auch beschrieben das man das Programm nach einigen malen des Benutzens wieder irgendwo aktivieren muss. Stimmt das?

Aktivieren ist der falsche Ausdruck. Man kann das Programm 100 Mal starten, dann muss man einmal im Aktivator (=Updateprogramm von VCP) wieder "aufladen". Dann erkennt ich bei VCP nicht einmal ob der Fehler statisch oder sporadisch ist? Der Log ist wirklich sehr minimalistisch. Da gefällt mir VCDS wirklich besser.
Werde andere Fehler denn besser beschrieben oder werden alle nur in so kurzer Form präsentiert?
