# ECM / EDC bricked by flashing - 03L906023MN

Hi all,

I just bricked my ECM (engine control module) from my Golf 6 1.6 TDI. I wanted to update from 9920 to 9971 with vcp6. Reason: The generator charges the battery with a too high voltage of 15.2 Volt. So the battery dehydrated over time. This bug was fixed in the versions 9970 and 9971. That is the reason for my flash.

What can I do to make the engine/car run again? It seems that a solution was given in the topic “Engine control module 03L906018PA” but all relevant software names used to fix it were censored.
